About Us
History
The Department of Business Administration at National Dong Hwa University (NDHU) was founded in 1994 with the establishment of its Master of Business Administration (MBA) program. The undergraduate program was launched in 1996, followed by the Extensive MBA (EMBA) program in 1999 and the Ph.D. program in 2001. In 2009, the International MBA program was introduced, completing a comprehensive academic structure from undergraduate to doctoral levels.
Over the years, the department has nurtured a growing body of alumni, who now contribute significantly to business and academia across Taiwan and abroad. With a strong commitment to both research and teaching, we continue to expand our influence while offering a full spectrum of programs that meet the evolving needs of students and the professional community.
Vision and Educational Philosophy
We aspire to cultivate business professionals with strategic vision, ethical integrity, global competence, and a deep connection to local industries. Our educational philosophy is centered around four pillars:
- Global Perspective: We prepare students for the challenges of globalization through English-taught courses, international exchange programs, and multicultural learning experiences. Our International Master’s Program in Business Administration (IMBA) attracts students from around the world, fostering a diverse academic environment.
- Digital Agility: In an era defined by digital transformation, we emphasize the development of digital capabilities. Our curriculum integrates data analysis, online simulation systems, and AI tools. Blended in-person and online formats enhance teaching effectiveness and accessibility.
- Innovation and Interdisciplinarity: We actively promote innovation in both teaching and research by embracing interdisciplinary approaches and real-world problem solving. Our students participate in hands-on projects and case-based learning experiences, supported by state-of-the-art simulation tools and a rich collection of case studies.
- Localization with Impact: Situated in eastern Taiwan, we take pride in embedding local relevance into our academic pursuits. Our research and coursework address regional industries such as tourism, agriculture, and culture and creative enterprises. Through collaboration with NDHU’s Innovation and Incubation Center, students engage in real-world consulting projects that connect classroom learning to community development.
